This scheme makes sense and it is nicely simple. There are nevertheless two 
points I would like to raise:

1) Would it make sense to keep the last “stable” of each main version around? 
2) The scheme does not include the “latest” tag, which is the default tag. This 
should be equal to the “stable” tag. Therefore, when no tag is specified, the 
“stable” (“latest”) will be used.
