That has always been the case The Audio device must be always present. You can get around that by using the -C option on the squeezelite page, "Soft Power off" the Player on the LMS page. Wait a few seconds( How many ever seconds you put in the -C line) Then power off your USB Amp. But if you try to play before powering up your USB device, squeezlite will stop.
