That fits. You are 5 hours behind GMT. Unix initial timestamp shifted 5 hours would be 1969-12-31 19:00. I assume Paul was seeing the same. The likely scenario is that your modem starts up - finds no real-time clock and sets date to 1970-01-01 00:00. Then it goes on and finds a configuration saying timezone is GMT minus 5 hours. When writing to log files it uses this for a few seconds until the modem gets an network connection, finds an NTP server and sets the correct date and time. After that the log entries will look normal. Regarding your original date question I can't remember anything that should mark Nov 29 1979 11:00 as something special. Sounds more like an error when the files were copied. Maybe some conversion between different filesystems? Or a batch update with weird default settings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Miles9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71396 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114922 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
