That sounds like a network routing problem rather than a pCP specific issue.
My guess is that a discovery packet being sent by your controller is not getting through the network. Can you ping the IP address of the pCP system from a device on the other WiFi network? If you can then can you tell your controller/player to use that IP address rather than having it try to discover LMS. The networking solution might well be as simple as turning off DHCP on the 2nd access point.
