Eventually it worked, not sure what I did.

Anyways, output volume is better. Instead of my Chromecast Audio being
at 65% to match the PiCorePlayer, I can run the Chromecast Audio at 93%.

Thanks all for developing this awesome software and helping out a newbie
on this forum.
