ATI indeed has a label saying that the Radeon 7000 is not compatible with X; although, it does work with X on some unsupported machines as does the original Radeon. The Radeon 7000 was always meant to be a replacement for the Rage cards and chip sets that are not supported by a driver for acceleration under X. Since Apple has seen fit to disregard the Beige G3 and older then it would be up to ATI to provide the extra firmware/drivers for X. ATI has made a half-hearted attempt to support such machines, possibly due to Apple's pressure, or just that ATI does not need to support unsupported machines. I think that before you get excited, you should check out the Web for information. ----- "...Wouldn't it be worse if life were fair, and everything bad that happens to us happens because we deserve it?" -Marcus Cole, Babylon 5. -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
