For those who are interested, here are the results of my tests with "Let1kWindowsBloom"
# of seconds to open and close 1000 windows: OS 9.2.1 / No Card 39" OS 9.2.1 / Radeon / No Drivers 47" OS 9.2.1 / Radeon / Drivers 27" OSX / No Card 142" OSX / Radeon / Drivers 120" OSX / Classic / No Card 40" OSX / Classic / Radeon 30" Times are an average of three test for each configuration. Card is a Radeon Mac Edition. Times in OSX are considerably slower, but still, there is acceleration. This is especially clear in Classic mode, where the only drivers are those supplied by OSX, the others being disabled. I think the slower times in OSeX are due to the higher system overhead of the Aqua environment. Perhaps times would be better if I had more RAM - I only have 192 MB installed right now.
