I have info from someone who knows his stuff and he says NO firewire 
card currently lets you boot from an old world Mac or clone. The card 
would need to have firmware which allows this and be able to run 
without software. Current cards need the software to load into the OS 
before firewire will work . It isn't likely these cards will be made 
as are not needed for new machines.
