Yes, it is an internal SCSI that I swapped in place of the stock. It is a Sony CRX140S I bought new on Ebay for $70. X sees it perfectly and will burn discs without any additional software (under the "File" list). In 9 it needs Toast to be useable (Even as a standard CD-ROM).
