Will, my Radeon Mac Edition isn't supported either. That doesn't mean it 
won't work (Which, btw, it does, just fine); it just means ATI isn't 
going to invest R&D and Support money in it.

That said, I wouldn't want to be the first one to buy a 7000 in the 
hopes it would work. But maybe someone with direct experience with that 
card will be able to answer Mike's question.

Actually no. ATI has a good reputation.That's why they were the main 
supplier of video chipsets to Apple until the fight over the Cube.

Certainly. But not legacy Macs trying to run OSeX. It's a vanishingly 
small percentage of Mac users that are going to do this. Very small 
market that would be.

Again, what trouble? Just because ATI isn't doing exactly what you want 
and supporting a small segment of Mac users, doesn't mean you should be 
slagging the company.

I've installed four different ATI cards in various (supported, running 
OS 8.6 - 9.x) Macs and clones. Not once have I had even a minor problem.
