[rant]9.2.x/10.x.x comes down to this: Apple wants people to buy new
machines. We (the determined ones) have decided that that's just not
good enough. We have demonstrated that 9.2.2/X can run on these
machines, but no one really cares. I guess that's the definition of
unsupported.[/rant]

With that said, 9.2.x is essentially 9.1.x with a few adjustments and
new drivers, but was really designed to stop Apple support for machines
that could potentially run it and benefit from it.

Essentially, all that is different is the gestalt resources. The list
of supported gestalt ID's is MUCH shorter than 9.1.x, the last OS to
support pre-beige g3. All the patch does is copy these supported
resources back into the system suitcase.

The steps are roughly: set MachIDWannabe to simulate a Beige G3, Run
patched 9.2.2 installer, edit system suitcase gestalt resources from
afar, reboot.

I've run it for a while, and notice no difference from my B&W at work
running the same thing. If you decide to go through with this I can
provide more concrete steps.
