I use one of Apple's USB keyboards and optical mice for everyday use, but since I only have USB off a PCI card, I cannot do any of the startup keystroke tricks with it. It comes on board to late in the mount process. The ADB bus is visible at the beginning, so went I want to boot into verbose or single user I drag it out and use it. Depending on the monitor, it may seem like nothing is happening in the verbose mode, for an apparent long time. I'm still using the Sony that came with this unit from Power computing originally. When booting in the verbose mode it stays in the energy saver mode for the majority of the start up process. Just keep holding the keys down. One my unit it takes about 2.5 minutes before the screen kicks in. Initially it's just a black screen and the "I'm saving energy, orange LED". Once the green "I'm alive LED" comes on you can release the keys. > I will join the forum today by the way. Well worth it.
