Ars Technica is the original source of the hack, and people in the forum thread say it is technically impossible for a Rage128 to support QE, since it lacks the ability to render certain required video elements. There are also some nice reports and benchmarks showing what kind of improvement one might expect. Some window effects will speed up tremendously, but overall performance increases will be more modest, due to the architectural limitations of the PCI bus and the bandwidth limitations of Old World machines. -- _______________________ Phil Lefebvre Chicago, IL -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
