Okay Listers! I did what most would consider insane...I used XPF to install X.1 to my stock 2400c with my HD partitioned into a tiny 100 meg partition for 9.1 and the rest of the 1.3 for X. The install was fine...but took about an hour and a half. It takes three minutes to boot as I am running on the 603ev(?) and the American max RAM of 80 megs. Performance is surprisingly good considering the low RAM and older processor.
Anyway...My usual path to the Internet is through a Farallon PC Card Ethernet connection in one of the slots. X does not see it, and the "hardware manager" doesn't see anything in the slots when I check em. XPF's site says that support for PowerBooks is spotty. Most onboard Ethernet connections do not work and there is no PC card support for non-cardbus cards. Has anyone gotten a stock 2400c going with X and web access? Perhaps with third party cards?
