I got myself a nice problem. Bear with me because it's kinda long. I recently acquired a copy of Jaguar. I have already been running OS X for a year. When I downloaded XPF 2.2.2, and tried to install, it worked like normal until it got to the part of copying the mach_kernel file. When it got there it froze. I thought the disk might be bad or something so I tried my copy of OS X 10.1. It didn't work either. So I borrowed a copy of Sonnet's X installer (just to see if it works), as of I have a Sonnet G3 500 in my 8500, which is the problem machine. It copied about 25 files to my computer and then it froze. I finally gave up and booted back into OS X thinking nothing would be different as of I never installed anything. Wrong! It booted just fine and then when I went to connect to the internet through my DSL, nothing happened. I checked my settings and it has no record of an ethernet port even being on the computer! So my questions are: 1. How do I get jaguar to install using either Sonnet or XPF -or- 2. How do I at least get my internet working again?
I figure installing jaguar will solve the internet problem, but ya never know.
