Yes, you will need a USB PCI card. Your 800 doesn't have a USB port? There are USB->serial adapters that may work, to attach serial printers to USB-only Macs that may work. OTOH, I've seen some decent USB printers for prices not much higher than the adapter. I have no problems printing to an Epson 750 via USB from my 8500/G4 in 10.2.1 using an OrangeMicro FW/USB combo card. My impression over the years is that the OrangeMicro cards are among the most reliable combo cards, especially for USB. You can also use pretty much any USB card that is listed as OHCI compliant, including generic CompUSA-quality stuff. I use a cheap ($20) CompUSA combo card in my Beige G3 w/ 10.2.1. OTOH, the same card would not work well in a 7500 under any OS, so YMMV. -- _______________________ Phil Lefebvre Chicago, IL -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
