I am having problems getting the OS X 10.2 Install CD to recognize my reconfigured 8500 w/ G4/450. I had it running fine from an 8 GB SCSI drive on the internal SCSI bus. I recently installed an ACARD ATA/66 with a WD 80GB drive and replaced the 8GB drive with an 18 GB SCSI drive.
I have OS 9.1 installed on the WD drive, and it boots fine. Using XPostFacto 2.2.2,he computer boots fine from the 10.2 CD, but hangs infinitely on the preparing for installation progress bar window. I with both the 80 GB IDE drive or the 18 GB SCSI drive, and neither would work. My understanding is that the ACARD ATA/66 card, which acts like a SCSI card, doesn't have the first 8 GB install limit. Besides, it doesn't even get to that point. I tried zapping the PRAM 5 times, and all that happened was I lost my Radeon 7000 card. Anyone have any other advice? -- _______________________ Phil Lefebvre Chicago, IL -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
