Tim, I'm using a Que 24x10x40 CD/RW (Sanyo mechanism) with a VST Ultratek-66 PCI IDE adapter in a 7600. Works like a charm in OS9 or X (Disk Burner, iTunes, Toast). Only drawback is it won't boot with 'c' key, but will start the machine if selected in the Startup Disk control panel. HTH.
