jochen,
I have had minor difficulties installing OS X 10.1 and 10.2 (both client and Server editions) on my Umax S900.
Just so you know, there are no issues with interleaved memory (none that I have noticed). Also, my IMS TT and ATI Rage 128 cards both worked perfectly--you just need to remember to keep them in the top 2 slots if using on a Umax S900.

hello list

After fiddling around with several Linuxes on my Umax Pulsar / S900
(604 - 233Mhz),
I come closer to think about installing MOX somewhere..

Somewhere means that this has not necessarily to take place on the Umax:
theres also an Mach 5 machine (9600/350)
and another 9600 who was originally an 250 Mhz Machine, but came to
my with an Formac G3 / 400 on a Xlr8 Carrier Board.
(Have not used the last for a long time, due to its instability..I
guess I have to check this out)

Ram would there be enough,
just the G3 would be limited to 6*64Mb (in an 9600) or 4*64 (in the
S900) due to the fact that it doesnt like interleaved memory, and
the best Ram Ive got are identical 64MB Dimms (60ns EDO).

From all linuxes I know the difficulties with Graphiccards.. nothing
works really fine ;((
Anyway there is:
an IMS TT (long version)
an IMS TT (half long)
an Voodoo 3 2000 (flashed from PC to Mac)
an ATI Radeon 7500 Mac Edition
and an Villagetronic MacPicasso 540 (rather old ;)

Maybe an additional NIC:
Asante Fast 10/100 ( with DEC 21140, works under Linux with the tulip driver)

And the Sonnet ATA 66
but maybe another ATA card
(I plan to buy one, but they (the Mac Versions) are simply overprized
in Europe)

Right..
could someone give me hint what would be the best combination to try
the install on?
I would tend to install on the Mach 5 604ev Machine, but this would
only allow me to get 10.1 installed!?
then the Graphics..hmm..
I guess with 10.1 there is only the IMS TT Option ?,
where with Jaguar on the G3 I could at least after install change to
the Voodoo?
Oh yes, what about the ATI ?
would this one cooperate with 10.1 ?

Thank you &
greetings Jochen
