While my Dual 967 goes back to apple (bad motherboard), I have confirmed that I can keep the HD that was in it as long as I supply/install a drive that they can test with. I have a 4GB sacrificial Drive that I will toss OS9/X on.
Since I will be without that ultra speedy machine for about a week, here is what i have. 9600 w/ PL g3400 upgrade, plenty of ram (500-750), xpostfacto allows me to boot one 4GB drive that has Jag on it, one 4 GB drive that has 9/1 on it - both internal. Since I am in the process of finding a IDE card (may buy one fom OWC tonite) I still have a FireWire External that I'd like to toss my DUal 867 drive into since it has many essential files, mail, what have you and have it be bootable from the FW drive externally. Xpostfacto says it is not bootable OSX on the internal drive says it is ok to boot from that FW drive, but then just dumps back into 9 on reboot., os 9 can see the drive anybody got any ideas short of getting an IDE card for the PCI slots?
