Your not the first person to find they could install OSX of one
version or another on the slower external SCSI but not the internal
faster SCSI. Many of these people found that after doing the install of
OSX and getting things to work they could then move the ribbon cable
over to the faster internal bus and it worked fine! Do you know or
notice that XPFacto has a throttle option at the top which slows the
cpu down for the booting process then goes back to normal speed? It may
well work the same way without the trouble of moving the
cable...amazing what we can find if we take the trouble to read all the
available info.... but then most people don't like to read manuals or
ask for directions....Just giving you a bit of a hard time....;-)
As best as I know the Sonnet software works with Sonnet (of course!)
and NewerTech G3/4 upgrades. It crashes my XLR8 G3. XLR8 Mach Speed
Control no longer works after maybe 10.1 maybe earlier or so not sure
exactly but It doesn't work at all with Jaguar. So you are running with
no backside cache if using it! The Powerlogix software works well with
the XLR8 upgrades and so does Ryan's L2 software on machines with
removable motherboard L2 caches. Best of luck. Will S
