This is not really a shortcoming of 'sdiff' -- it is a shortcoming of
Terminal. To get the optimum performance out of sdiff, you need to make
the Terminal window much wider. Probably the perceived advantage of
opendiff is that it opens in a gui window and thus doesn't have the text
rendering limitations of sdiff as displayed in a standard Terminal window.
