hi,

we're just getting a new adsl connection with a static ip address which
means we can experiment with our own serving and stuff.

therefore we need to get a router and firewall. there seems to be a load of
choice ranging from stoopidly cheap to 'oh my god!' expensive...

wondered if anyone has any suggestions of good products to go for? the main
things are it has have a configurable firewall as we are planning using one
mac here as a server (for web, ftp and remote access) and it needs to work
with both mac's and pc's. we want to go for the router option as opposed to
the usb adsl modem plugged into a machine with ip sharing enabled.

the one i've found is the "DrayTek Vigor 2600 ADSL Router, Firewall,
Switch+VPN Mac / PC Enet" which seems to be one box with everything built in
for 139.99 + vat. any good?

any suggestions would be great,

cheers,

jake

p.s. we are only a small office of 5 mac's and two pc's so the 3000.00
cisco beasts are not an option!!
