Today, I decided to dup OS 9 and repartition my HDD's so I would be running an X only system. I haven't used Classic in a year so I think it is time. I am attempting a complete system backup by making .dmg files of my disks and burning them to CD...the idea being that I can reinstall and copy the files back by dragging them from a disk image to retain my filesystem organization....I will let all know how it goes when I am finished....
Won't work, as you're missing the hidden files needed to make OSX work, unless you're copying the system using CarbonCopyCloner or using the ditto command-line utiity. (Which CCC is a gui wrapper for)
