I just embarked on a 5 hour journey. I downloaded and installed iChat AV beta on my 7500/G4 and upon the initial restart I had my first ever kernel panic very early in the startup process (in verbose mode)..... It may have been coincidence with the iChat AV beta?

That's funny. Just yesterday I also installed iChat on my 9600. I think your prob may have been 'caused' by the iChat install, but isn't necessarily an iChat problem as my install went fine. Have you repaired permissions?

My only prob seems to be my mic isn't working. Running it thru firewire my JVC digital camera and the video works fine, but my mic is crossed out when trying to use iChat. I thot maybe it would use the camera mic as well if it didn't like the computer mic.....
