I have an 8500 432 MB RAM with a Sonnet 800 G4. No other add-ons except a Radeon 7K. After several months of putting up with stuttering sound and eventual loss of all audio until reboot, I've noticed that this only happens when I place an app with audio playback such as iTunes, Audion, QuickTime etc... on the Radeon 7K screen (either by dragging to it set as the secondary screen or when already there as the main/menubar screen) and try to play a file with audio such as a QuickTime movie, CD audio, MP3 etc.... When I move it back to the monitor running from built in mobo video support the audio plays fine. Sound works like it should on both monitors in OS 9.1 and 9.2 but not 10. I've gone through an upgrade path starting at 10.0 - 10.1 -10.1.5 - 10.2 - 10.2.3 - 10.2.4 -10.2.5 - 10.2.6, Clean Apple installs (no ATi drivers), except for the help of XpostFacto 2.2.5 didn't even run the Sonnet L2/L3 cache enabler. Same behavior each time. Then with the caches enabled. Also with and without firmware ver. 2.0.8 for the Radeon card. Pulled the card to the other slots, reset PRAM, used only one monitor, still the same effect. What am I not doing? With all the radeon 7K users on the list has or can anyone else duplicate this behavior on your setup? Is there a fix? I'm sorry if I missed this in an earlier discussion if it already was.
Thanks,
Steve

I have a Daystar Genesis with the 800 Mhz Sonnet G4 and the Radeon 7000.

My sound wont work in iTunes but everything else is OK...in 9.1, 8.6, and 10.2.6
