Greetings,
I have a PM 9600 upgraded as follows:
1. Sonnet G3 500 MHZ ( 1MB cache) 2. 640 MB Ram 3. ATI Rage (16MB) Video Card 4. ATTO UW SCSI Card SCSI bus 2 with 2 9 GB UW drives attached Drive ID=2, 9GB Drive no SU Disk installed Drive ID=6, 9GB Drive with OS 9.2.2 installed 5. Original 4, GB drive on internal SCSI bus 0 ( ID =0) 6. All drives formatted with Intech HD tools 2.5
Is that a typo ?or are you really using Intech's HD tools 2.5? I believe that is too old a version to use with OSX. You will likely need a 3.x version for OSX (3.2 and 3.5 come to mind). Apple's Drive setup is perhaps a better choice if it works with your drives. The newest version work with nearly all drives except for some older SCSI . Does the PM 9600 have an internal connector for both internal and external SCSI buses? Some machines do. The external SCSI is a slower running bus but a number of people who had install issues found they could do the install of OSX after moving the SCSi cable to that slower external bus. It was also possible to move the cable back to the faster internal SCSI bus after doing the install and first boot of OSX. Another couple of things to try. Open the XPFacto control panel ( are you using the newest 2.2.5?) and under advanced at the top choose the keyboard as input device and the ATI video card as output device. It will show up as ATY something. Many people have found this worked for them. Also use the throttle setting at the top. This can be used to slow the cpu down for booting. Some drives need this otherwise the drive starts up too slow for the cpu. It only affects the booting so try the slowest which is 25 if your having booting problems. best of luck Will S
