I've had no problems using my 3rd gen iPod (gen) with X.2.6 on a PM8500, G3 400 with PCI Firewire card. In fact, getting the iPod was my primary motivation for running OSX on this machine. It wouldn't work at all with OS 9.2. That being said, I've been having problems with iTunes 4 freezing while ripping CD's. It will usually rip one or more tunes and then freeze...a complete freeze where I have to reboot. It's the only app I'm having problems with in OSX.
