I wouldn't put X in less than a 4G partition. I managed to get 10.1 in one once but it was tight. If you want to install the developer tools you will end up needing most of that. Since you have other drives you probably don't want to mess with much OS 9 on the 18G SCSI, maybe a <1G partition for safety. Then give half the rest to the OS X system partition and the rest to a user partition (in case you need to trash and reinstall the system cold, you don't want any of your own files there). I wouldn't use any third-party tools to partition the disk if you can avoid it. I originally bought a couple of Seagate Hawks from a "Mac-friendly" vendor for mine, and when I got them they were partitioned with FWB and I couldn't even touch them for OS X. I found out the hard way why... they had taken known bad disks (THOUSANDS of bad sectors that the SCSI 'hard' error table couldn't handle) and used FWB to 'format around' them. -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
