I checked the files that XPF had installed into the HD; there are two, one titled "private" which I didn't touch, the other "system", in which there were 130 items totalling 920k. Does that sound like XPF completed its installation, is there some way to get it now to "reboot" into the 10 CD or is there something else I should do???
The 'private' and 'system' files are installed by XPF before the reboot to enable it. I just reinstalled Jag on this 9600 and also couldn't get past the 'waiting for root' screen. After trying about a half dozen plus times, I low level formatted the 18 GB drive that I put X on (all 18 gigs mind you) and using XPF3, everything worked!
Just make sure you do NOT say 'erase and install' in the install options.....
