Guys I haven't followed whole thread so appologies if it's been mentioned before.....
Why not simply hold the option key down when switching between applications? that will hide the widow/application when you click on "new" destination. It's been there since system 7 (Cannot remember if it was a feature of 6.0.8 with multifinder
