Every time you install OS X updates, Classic gets this need to reinstall stuff.

It's like the fresh new UNIX smell offends its sensibilties, so it has to
piddle on things to make them smell like Classic again.

Sounds like this time around there's a hydrant missing or an surplus, and
it's having a panic attack. Possibly one of the previous Classic updates is
in the wrong place? Try removing the Classic files from "System Folder" and
starting Classic up again... it should treat it as a virgin install and
reinstall the Classic extensions instead of trying to update them...
