Well I got everything going again. Then this morning the problem was different. The screen, containing the desktop, blinks on and off. When I tried to force-quit, I had two finders. I could quit one successfully, not both and the second would keep coming back.
I have tried using Disk First on the install disk for 10.1, as well as Disk Warrior, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've also taken out both PCI cards (one for USB, one for video. So far, nada.
