X-postfacto to install 9.2.1?

	Do you have to use X-postfacto to install 9.2.1 on a G3 upgraded 8600? 
 I have a 9.2.1 install CD that came with my copy of Jaguar.  I got 
Jaguar to work on my 8600 over my 9.1 installation.  But, now I want to 
do a clean install on a newer HD.  I restarted in 9.1 and popped in the 
9.2.1 CD, but I got the message "This will not work on this machine..." 
just like when I first tried to install Jaguar.
	My computer specs are...
8600 upgraded with a G3/300 NewerTech card
384 MB of RAM
4.1 GB Quantum HD
4.1 GB Seagate Barracuda HD
18.3 GB Western Digital HD
	Oh by the way, has anybody been able to get the L2 cache config. 
software from OWC to work with a NewerTech card under OS X?  I tried a 
couple of times, but I can't make it work.
