> I have to ask, how is .8 working for you. After the initial
release, I decided to hold off on installing it. I have the same
Sonnet G4 installed in my 9600 and used XPostFacto to install and
then overlayed Sonnet's drivers and would like to compre notes.

Interesting. I used Sonnet to install but I find XPostFacto seems more reliable booting: I sometimes have to use it for switching from 9 to X because Startup Disk X hangs. What do other people do?

I have had 1 or 2 hangs while starting up, and I use this computer daily. I have always worked for stability in my computers rather than bleeding edge performance. The install method I used, from the XPF forums was:

Install OSX using XPF
In X, run the Sonnet X Tune-UP (1.2.7 in my case)
Boot back to 9 and use XPF to re-install its patches.

I think the last part provides stability while still utilizing both the L2 and L3 caches of the G4 board. Since you used Sonnet's install software, I'm not sure if you can successfully overlay the XPF extensions or not.
