-- Hello,
I am interested in making a Boot-able partition or hard drive copy for backing up my system partition. I have used Sonnet's PCI installer utility for 10.0.2. I keep corrupting my rom and having to yank the battery for periods of one hour to a half day to get the computer to work again. And I have to physically remove the hard drive that I have made the copy on so that the machine won't go into a coma from shock again.
I am guessing that either CarbonCopyCloner or Data Backup X made viable duplicates most of the time I used them. But I am apparently missing something?
I am hesitant to use Apple's instructions for manual back up because they don't support the un-supported -or I am burning out on doing all these back up steps--only to have to pull my battery almost every time.
I long for the Classic days when all I had to do was drag a hard drive icon into that of another to make a boot able copy. It seems that my OS X experience has been at least -if not more- difficult as using Windows when it comes to backing up entire systems up and booting from them. Come to think of it, I haven't successfully done this with Windows 2000 yet _either_.
All my administrator privileges have been addressed properly as far as I can tell.
My machine is a 9500 using Sonnet's 700 mhz Crescendo processor. It also has 1.5 gb of memory.
Thanks for any and all replies,
Tim Sullivan
