> How does one go back to 9.1 after installing 9.2.2 with OS 9 Helper?

If you have the original system folder, you should be able to boot
from it, so long as you copied it in finder or with ditto.

The alternate system folder needs to be on another partition/drive otherwise it will be "deblessed" and wont be the active boot system folder.

If you are sure you want to go back to 9.1 - two ways to do it

1 - do a clean install after booting from OS 9 CD (that will rename OS 9.2.2 System Folder to Previous System Folder and debless it but at least you will still have all files intact inside should you need some CDEVS, XTNs etc)

2 - trash 9.2.2 folder (back it up first if you feel happier that way) or trash the files called finder, system, classic, MacOS ROM, login and system resources (basically any file in system folder with smiley mac OS Icon).

I did a similar thing on 9600 for OS 9 side of it as 9.2.x were flakey on my config. Haven't yet tried using the Open transport stuff from 9.2 under 9.1 which is more stable though

Hope this helps.

Regards

Simon
