I bought a genuine ATI Radeon 7000 PC PCI version with 32 megs DDR memory in
the hopes of flashing it to a Mac version. I found one place on the net
that showed how, with the ROM image available for download.

http://aex.org/mac/7000.html

However, when it came time to flash the ROM image they have back to the
card, I got this error:

Full Screen Dump:

---------------------

ATI Flash Utility V1.3

Serial ROM
BIOS DeviceID = 0x5144
ASIC DeviceID = 0x5159

ASIC DeviceID does not match with BIOS file "mac7k.bin" DeviceID

Use '-f' to force flashing

ERROR 0FL01 : press '1' to continue

---------------------

What is odd is that according to these instructions, I have the exact same
card they require (type 5159) and I downloaded the exact ROM they specified
from their link. However, their instructions do not mention this error.

Does anyone have better instructions? And where to get a good ROM file? Or
am I just to flash it with -f and forget about the error?

You probably just need to use the "-f" on your flash command. I always use this option, if fact you have to use it Just add "-f" without the quotes, to the end of your flash command.
