Well, apologies for wasting your bandwidth. But the titles were clear, and some topics marked as only marginally "on" right from the start.

Bear in mind the progression. With OS X PB, the beige powersurge machines were supported; with Cheetah and Puma that went, and it was only grudgingly with 10.1.5 that Apple reintroduced some missing support for older Rage chips. With Jag, non-G3s miss out, and non-Radeons miss out on QE. With Panther, Old World ROMs become unsupported. It's a perpetual war of attrition.

From the XPF posts, it's clear Ryan Rempel has met big problems getting built-in-vid working for Panther; Jag still won't run on pre-G3s.

It's against that background that discussions about compatibility - narrow or wide - take place. Whatever machines I currently have running OS X - supported or not - will one day be broken. I like to know what to expect in the future.

Whatever. Compliments of the season.

Sounds good to me. I'm a little tired of list nazi's on every mailing list
whining about off-topic discussions.

The titles were pretty clear. Just delete them.

Waaaaaaaaaaah!

Or at least take it off line. Or I'll start saying how fast my G5 is

Then when a question is posed that does belong on this list, no one
responds for several days if at all.
By all means, grab a cup of egg nog and continue your geek speak...
