Note that if this is your first experience with IDE/ATA drives, some of the rules of cabling are a bit different from SCSI.

Compared to SCSI, there aren't any rules! All you have are Master/Slave. Either can be at either position on the cable. That's it. There are no mind-numbing choices such as Termination, Term Power, Motor On, Motor On Delay, SCSI ID, Force SE Mode, Drive Supplies Term Power, Bus Supplies Term Power, etc. etc.!


Due to the above nonsense, I have officially given up trying to get a SCSI CD-ROM to work in my S900. I'm now looking for a cheap PCI IDE card to use with one of the 3 IDE CD-ROMs/CD-RWs I have laying around here!
