You're running OS X on the 8500? Sounds like a fine basis for a firewall:
I've got 150 users behind a FreeBSD box in the same position.

You need to configure the Barricade to do NATting and provide DHCP service
to the rest of the net. All your computers will use "non-routable"
addresses (probably 192.168.something), and the Barricade will map outgoing
connections to the external address.
