I am aware that on some machines (like beige G3s) OS X won't install except within the first 8 GB of the HDD; hence you must partition the drive accordingly.
Apple tech note 106235 clarifies this and states that the problem occurs with ATA (IDE) drives, but not with SCSI drives.
Ryan Rempel's notes for XPF 2 likewise state that it's an IDE not a SCSI issue.
Has anyone experienced a first-8GB partition limit problem with a SCSI drive connected to the internal SCSI bus of a PowerSurge machine? I mean really, personally, first-hand experienced it - not hearsay (my cousin knew a man whose wife once had this problem...) kind of experienced it.
Thanks for any info.
