Startup in OS 9.2.2. Remove to Trash the following prefs; Apple Menu Options, Finder and System. Don't empty Trash. Restart. After resetting Apple Menu Options and all the rest is OK, empty Trash and restart in OSX. Try Classic again. Having this problem with a 9500/G3/300/300/1MB and a Beige G3 DT266, doing this way solved my problem.
