if you find the name of said app, please let us know. i'll hopefully be running 10.3 soon, and i don't need no stinkin special effects in the finder! not just because of the speed hit, but i find such things annoying, and silly (just like the silly sound effects, but at least you can turn those off!). what's next, a mac version of "icon do it" (animation for icons on the pc platform, truly silly, not that silly is always bad). seriously, i'd prefer useful features to bells and whistles any day, and since development time is finite and any code can add bugs i think it's silly to make everything that cute (though i do like to use funny icons for partitions, but that doesn't cost much, if anything and doesn't impact the system stability.
