I get these all the time when my computer's internal temp gets too hot (10.2.8 & 10.3). Never happened with my 400MHz CPU but it happens every 5 or 10 minutes with my 800MHz G4. Its a "natural" error (if there is such a thing) that is caused by a bug in MESH. You can ignore the error but you should make sure you aren't cooking your computer. I believe it just causes a slight drop in performance for the time the error happens though I can't be sure. What CPU do you have?

Thanks for the info about the source of the error. I hadn't noticed any performance problems from it. I was curious about the random nature of it and the sometimes flurry of repeated messages. I guess I can just go back to ignoring it.

As for the CPU, I have a Sonnet G4/700. It has been installed for about 6 months. As far as I know it has been working flawlessly. In the month that I have had Panther installed, I have never had it completely freeze on me other than 2 kernel panics caused while trying to get a USB device to work (but that's a whole different question). I would expect an overheated processor to shut down at some point.

I believe Sonnet's Metronome software used to give the CPU temperature, but the latest version doesn't, because the results were unreliable. How can I tell if it is running too hot?

thanks, jim
