DVD burner in older boxes

This is not strictly on topic but someone asked if DVD writers work 
in beige G3s, cannot answer that but can confirm that it seems OK in 
B&W G3s.

We were having some issues with Sony 4x drive in PIII 840 under XP 
with errors whilst writing and just for hell of it I put in into B&W 
G3 450 (overclocked from 350)  running 10.3.2 and only 320 MB ram

Bottom line is it works fine copying DVDs using toast 5.2.3 - not 
fast but fine. I do not have iDVD installed on G3 so cannot confirm 
if this works. Bear in mind no other application was running during 
this test.
