What's the exact configuration?
(eg: 8600 Asante Foo etherenet card -> Netgear 10/100 switch -> G4
gigabit ethernet)
One possibility is that the 100M card may be set to Full Duplex and the
switch to Half Duplex or Autoconfigure.
Half - Half Good, 100 MB each way, 100 MB total.
Full - Full Good, 100 MB each way, 200 MB total.
Half - Auto Auto -> Half, good, 100 MB each way, 100 MB total.
Auto - Auto Auto -> Full, good, 100 MB each way, 200 MB total.
Full - Half Bad, duplex conflict.
Full - Auto Auto -> Half, bad, duplex conflict.
If you have a duplex conflict you only get a few packets through.
