From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Has anyone gotten X.3 to run on any of these machines that have PCI and originally came with 603 processors?
No, and I don't think it will ever be possible or practical. The 603 processor is not supported by 10.2 and above, so that means you need a G3 or higher. The L2 cache slot G3 CPU upgrades used by these models means that the OS needs to first boot on the 603 CPU, then an extension kicks in that switches to the L2 slot G3 CPU. Since 603s aren't supported, this isn't going to work. Besides, this was tricky enough to get working under OS 9. It would be a major miracle to get OS X to switch CPUs while booting!
The most you could expect is to get 10.1.5 to run on it, but I suspect the people who were working on it have already given up on that as being too little, too late.
Besides, 128 meg of RAM isn't nearly enough. The realistic minimum is 256 meg. Even if you *could* get around the above issues, the 128 megs and 2 megs of video RAM would make the machine useless anyway.
Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news, but it just isn't going to happen.
Dan
