I know this is probably the wrong place to ask this, but I have never seen
just an OS X list, so here goes. My appologies in advance.

I am running OSX 10.3.4. I had two IRC clients installed, Snack and XChat.
I removed Snak. Now when I click on an IRC link in a web page, I get the
message that OSX doesn't know what to use to open that link. It doesn't
give me an option to browse and find the application. There is no place in
the preferences of Safari to tell it which app to use.

So my question is where can I insert this setting? To tell the OS that an
irc:// link needs to open up my XChat app?

Thanks in advance.
