Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I was in the middle of swithing users last night when I noticed errrors telling me that such and such volume was missing, etc. So for example, iTunes was playing and suddenly, it couldn't find the music. I restarted and the compupter started up, but now my desktop is blank and I have what looks like the default configuration for a new account. My dock items are gone, no pictures in the iPhoto library, no movies, music, etc. Fortunately, the data is all there. I can see it when I browse throught the partition that has the user folders in it. The startup volume and my home folders are on separate partitions and it has never been a problem. Has anyone ever had this happen? How do I get it back. When I log in as one of the users, I get the message that "Home folder not found". When I log in under the predominant account, I don't get this message, but nevertheless, the my stuff is all gone.

I have run DiskWarrior and everything checked out just fine. Moreover, I had previously cloned the startup volume to a different, albeit very small secondary drive (there is only like 500MB of space remaining). I can boot up with that drive (also 10.3) and it picks up my home folder just fine. So the problem appears to be with my System folder somewhere on my boot up volume?

I have also repaired permissions on the startup volume. Is there a directory that I can just copy and paste from my cloned panther partition to my real startup panther volume without risking too much, or a preference file?
